Emergency and Crime Reporting Procedures

Anyone on campus can contact SCC Safety to report a crime or other emergency by calling the:

or

RSCCD Safety Office (714) 564-6330

or

Use the Campus Emergency Call Boxes.

An officer on duty will be notified immediately.

Report Emergencies or Criminal Activity

RSCCD has a reputation for maintaining safe campuses, where students, faculty and staff can work and study without fear for their personal safety or property. This is, in part, a result of everyone working together to create an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to learning.

Emergency Call Boxes

There are 9 yellow emergency call boxes located on light poles throughout the campus and parking lots. They will automatically connect you with an on campus SCC Safety/Security Officer or the RSCCD Safety Dispatch Office.

Location

The SCC campus Safety/Security Department is located in U-100.

The SAC campus Safety/Security Department is located in the X building at Santa Ana College. The telephone number is (714) 564-6330. Anyone needing assistance may come to the office in the X building:

Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. -10 p.m.

and

Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

or use an emergency call-box, located throughout the campus.

After hours the Patrol Officers can be called on the office phone (714) 564-6330 or by using one of the on campus yellow emergency call-boxes.

Hours of Operation

SCC Safety/Security Department operates:

7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Daily

SCC's Safety/Security Department is part of the RSCCD Safety/Security Department, which maintains a dispatch center at Santa Ana College that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For emergencies, the dispatch center telephone number is (714) 564-6330 and they can reach an officer on duty at SCC.

Services

Besides providing general safety and security, District Safety Officers may perform the following services:

1. Render first-aid when the Health Center is closed Call

(714) 628-4730 for Emergencies.

2. Provide lost-and-found property services.

3. Assist in starting vehicles by jumping dead batteries.

4. Open locked vehicles (upon proper identification by owner).

5. Assist in the recovery of stolen property and help the parties involved contact the police department when necessary.

6. Provide directions and information regarding campus facilities and events.

7. Assist with traffic accidents on campus.

8. Provide escort services for staff and students returning to their vehicles.

9. Support the College Injury and Illness Prevention Program through periodic safety inspections of all campus buildings and grounds.
